Steering Committee Meeting Minutes

February 15th, 2005

 

The planned meeting of the OGLCA was February 15th, 2005, in OKC.  Due to lack of quorum, the steering committee meeting did not take place and no action occurred.  Chair Barker appointed those present and listed below as the Grants Committee to review and make selections for grant requests.  The actions of this committee are provided below:

                                                            Mike Thralls, Oklahoma Conservation Commission

                                                            Herman Mayeux, ARS, Ft. Reno

                                                            Marla Peek, OFB

                                                            Clay Pope, Executive Director, OACD

                                                            Steve Glasgow, State GLCI Coordinator

Erika McPhearson, OFB

                                   

 

I.               The meeting was called to order by Mr. Barker.  Introductions were made.

 

II.             Grant Applications

A)      Individual Scholarship Grant – Two received.

1                Rebecca Brand - $212.50

2                Ryan Brand - $212.50

B)      Educational Grant

1                Pushmataha Conservation District - $500             

2                RC&D – Women in Ag conference - $1000

 

Motion made by Mr. Hensley to accept and fund all grant applications at this time, with the two for Ryan and Rebecca Brand being combined into one not to exceed $500.  Second by Mr. Barker.  All ayes, Motion carried.

 

III.           Clay Pope, Executive Director of the OACD was present and provided the group an overview of two bills being introduced focusing on gaining revenues to address invasive species.

IV.           Ms. Peek updated the group on efforts to address salt cedar.

 

Meeting adjourned with no further business.
